Hard Work, Professional Excellence, Community
Commitment
Wes Hoaglund knows hard work. As a young boy, he
baled hay, split wood and mended fences. Hunting and fishing in the
deep woods developed his love and respect for nature. Working with his
parents at the local farmer’s co-op store in town developed his
love of community.
Hard work continued through the University of Wisconsin.
Wes not only majored in Economics, Political Science and Urban Planning,
but he also became a Certified Arborist. While hitting the books for
his Master’s degree in Economic Planning and Environmental Administration,
Wes “hit the bricks” working construction for local builders.
Wes’ career in Planning and Environmental
Review brought him to Orlando in 1988. As a Redevelopment Specialist,
he has won awards and written major conservation and development plans.
But for Wes, hard work never stops. He has also
co-founded the Space Walk of Fame Foundation in Titusville and helped
in the foundation of the Central Florida Performing Arts Alliance. Wes
also sits on the board of The Orlando Fringe Festival and serves on
the Board of Directors of Keep Orlando Beautiful, Inc.
